Toyota Truck / Cycle World International Motorcycle Show
03-23-2003 - Chantilly, VA
The Toyota Truck / Cycle World truck shows started last night at the Dulles Expocenter in Chantilly, VA. This is a short 7 miles south of Dulles Airport near Washington, DC. Unlike the two other “International” shows held in Baltimore this past January and February, the Toyota/Cycle World show was comprised strictly of Manufacturer representation. No custom or show bikes, just van loads of 2003 model bikes supplied by major manufacturers, with on floor assistance provided courtesy of local dealers. Definitely the place to be for new-bike shoppers. [Click the article title to read the full story.]
Daytona Bike Week

Daytona Bike Week - Rainy Start, Smart End. Daytona Beach was its normal, everyday, loud, Harley-focused fascinating Bike Week. Featuring racing and manufacturer exhibits at the Daytona International Speedway, a Harley-Davidson exhibit at the Ocean Center and numerous other events and displays in Daytona and in neighboring townships, hundreds of thousands of bikers rode, walked, sunned (or soaked up the rain) and enjoyed themselves.  [Click the article title to read the full story.]
Outback Steakhouse Poker Rally (w/photos)
09-22-2002 - Germantown, MD
Outback Steakhouse, Cheasapeake Bay Area, sponsored a charity Poker Run covering much of central Maryland between Annapolis and Frederick.   For those new to biking, such as the author, a Poker Run is an event whereby participants visit 5 checkpoints, collecting cards at each to make up a poker hand.   The best (and worst) hands win prizes.  Outback graciously provided the staff, prizes and food -- a mucho grande bonus for those who like Bloomin' Onions and Aussie Cheese Fries!  Barbecued ribs, chicken, soft drinks and dessert was also served.
Although overcast and an early slight drizzle, the weather held up for excellent riding.  The run connected Outback restaurants in Fredrick, Montgomery, Baltimore, Howard and Anne Arundel counties.  The final meeting place for particpants was at the Harley-Davidson franchise nearest the restaurant from where they started.  For pictures from the event, taken at the Germantown, MD Outback, click here.
